I was born in České Budějovice, South Bohemia. After completing a PhD in Molecular Biology through Charles University in Prague and Université Louis Pasteur in Strasbourg in France, I moved to Manchester in 2008 for what was intended to be a short-term research placement. Instead, I made Manchester my home.

I am a research scientist at the Cancer Research UK Manchester Institute, where I study the mechanisms that regulate cell division. Alongside my research, I have an interest in higher education teaching and am a Fellow of Advance HE in recognition of my teaching practice. Outside work, I am a mother of two boys.

I am proud of my Czech heritage and value the opportunity to maintain strong ties to Czech culture while building connections within the local Czech community. I am delighted to be part of a team that helps bring people together and supports Czech families in the region.
